i originally thought about using substack but i didn't like how it limited my font choices and formatting, so i asked a friend for website recommendations that would help me with designing my own website. yes this hosting service uses html and css, though I find those probably the easiest languages to code in (i feel like i personally wouldn't even consider it coding because of how simple it kind of is???) and i also had prior experience with c++, python, and html/css in highschool so being able to refresh those skills has been a fun and challenging experience.
as someone who doesn't take photos of their life often, i want this blog to be that motivation that forces me to document my life and share my projects with people who i care about. i'm sure this will evolve as i figure out how i want my website to look and feel
