Here is an album that I've been recently listening to! They played in Oberlin recently and I unfortunately missed the opportunity to attend but hopefully I can see them in the future and appreciate it to a greater extent than if I had attended in the first place. ~ ~ ~ Welcome to my first blog post on my website that I designed throughout these past two or so weeks. This has been a great learning experience and refresher on my coding (html & css is so simple. don't let anyone tell you that you cannot just make your own website. and sure this is simple but I didn't use AI, i used my little noggin and some help from w3schools- a classic for coders. Please bear with me as I continue to update this website (I haven't gotten the changce to set up the about me page, the projects page, or the contact page...) and while I figure out how much information I want to really put on this public website. While it is mainly meant for the people who or have been involved in my life in one way or another, it is inevitable that other people will end up finding this website. Hopefully, we can relate on several of the things we talk about and maybe I will have a comment section or notes for you readers to put any thoughts or comments you have! This week has been jam packed with 'Sco shifts during most days and OES (Office of Energy and Sustainability) for big swap and zero waste events. Monday seemed to have been the busiest day this week at the 'Sco with so many seniors coming into the space after $1 wells. Maybe around 200 people or so and made quite a lot of money in terms of sales. The floors became quite wet like how it usually is during coverband: if you know... you know. It will just gather all the condensation from people sweating and concentrate it onto the floor, I mean people have slipped before and it just gets so hot and humid!!! Not fun at all. However, I will always prefer highly attended events as they are simply more fun than slower days. I remember working at the 'Sco for my first couple of months between my first and second year as my second job, and getting to work at important and popular events like Pride Drag Ball!! Even now, I remember those days and the manager who taught me how to do everything at the 'Sco. My only regret is not asking to be a manager earlier... |

| I went to Camp Senior earlier in the day on Monday, visiting the petting zoo and the bonfire further north. The petting zoo held honestly a big variety of animals: 2 goats, 2 sheeps; one with a coat and one without, 1 mini horse/pony, 1 donkey, 1 cow, and 1 camel. Although it was cute to sort of see these animals and pet them, it was pretty sad to see them encaged in this small area where they had ate all the grass in the hour or so that they were there. Also, I had no idea that sheep had literal coats or that their wool looked like that on them. Super cool!!! I hope to meet more sheep during the summer and shearing one would be suuuper interesting. |

I attended a wedding on Wednesday. I haven't been to a wedding in a while but I would say this was my third or fourth wedding that I've been to in my life. I remember being a flower girl as a child for a family friend's daughter, and absolutely failing at throwing an adequate amount of flowers onto the ground... lack of instructions I guess. The next wedding I remember was a couple years ago now, maybe in highschool or early college. It was my cousin's wedding and they had some pretty darn good food.... I don't remember much about both weddings in terms of what was said or what kind of events happened there, but I do remember that they were both mainly indoors and lots of relatives attended. Both were pretty fun as well since they were, maybe in their late 20s or 30s, and lots of their friends attended and they had wedding events like the wedding shoe game and the bouquet toss. This wedding that I went to on Wednesday was outdoors which is fine (I think my cousins wedding ceremony was outdoor too?) but the reception was also outdoors and with the rain and wind it wasn't the most enjoyable. Also, there were table games?? I hadn't experienced those at a wedding yet. And also the food was maybe 2 and a half hours after the ceremony. So we waited and played games in the cold while waiting for the food -- a taco truck -- to arrive. I'm not necessarily complaining about how this wedding was, more that it was a completely different experience from what I have personally experienced in terms of weddings. Though one could say that I am complaining about the weather... The tacos were quite good and so were the desserts. They also served tamales, which I've never had before. Learned that I'm not the hugest fan of them which is ok, AND I finished it so no food wasted. The reception before the taco people pulled up also had several drinks like butterfly pea flower tea, other drinks that I didn't try, and fruit cups. Butterfly pea flower tea brews as blue, but can turn purple with an acid like lemon juice added in. It was quite yummy and they provided a thick sweetener that sunk to the bottom of the cups but didn't change the color of the tea. Maybe they didn't realize? or maybe the lemon juice addition is a weird combination? I've honestly never had the tea before but I've seen it a couple times now. Also, this wedding was outdoors with all the utensils and plates being made of plastic whereas the other weddings were indoors in these ballroom or halls and had ceramic or china plates that people would wash later on. Perhaps more expensive but would nontheless prefer something like that for my wedding if I was to have one in the future. Or even handmade plates.... Even the things like the glass that hold table arrangements could be thrifted and different colors or shapes so that it could be unique. I think planning a wedding could be fun but also quite stressful. ~ ~ ~ |

On Thursday, I attended the garden party which I've heard some things about in the past from friends but I've never personally been there until this year. My partner had his first mimosa and I had my first sip(s) of alcohol since last summer. The food was also ok, like the salmon which I liked during garden party but despised the next day at the alumni event, the fruit that they provided like raspberries and strawberries, and I was able to really see all the people I knew gathered in one area and to say hi (and bye!!) to them if I was unsure that I would see them on commencement day. This was also the place where I saw and exchanged greetings with a lot of returning students/alumni. After the garden party, I went to the 'Sco to help clean up the space: chose to clean the closet and left with a DJ deck that no one has claimed ... yet... I hope to play around during the summer and if I don't have space for it, then I will play around in the spring when I come back to Oberlin. We will not talk about Thursday night. |

| Saturday was the day of the Commencement Weekend Market, where I made this poster above a couple weeks back to help promote it. The location ended up being in Heisman as it was quite rainy and there was a parents event at the same location. There was a lot of variety in types of food at this event which was very interesting, like a potato bar, and a dessert/cake bar, and poke bowl?? Well I had some seaweed and other toppings on rice from the poke bowl bar and it was quite filling. There were also drinks like iced tea and lemonade which I made a mix of before I started setting up my table. |

Unfortunately, I didn't take any photos of my fish mugs, something that I made maybe two weeks ago because I felt like it and ended up selling out this market. While I do have photos of my previous fish mug designs, each one is unique with a different underglaze design for the fish and different inner and outer glazes for the mug body. Since time cannot be turned back, I can only hope that I will take photos of them in the future! And you poor souls will just have to imagine them... After that, I went to the HP (Historical Performance) Concert, also named as the Baroque Concert on the events calendar. These voice majors are absolutely insane in what they do and I'm sure they will get very far in life. All the pieces were quite enjoyable and I would say that it was possibly worth paying $20 for, though I should have just snuck in like most other students probably did. I saw my secondary organ teacher one more time before I left for Stockholm at this concert and she has been so sweet and helpful in teaching me about the organs on campus, and utilizing her connections to help me get organ lessons while I am abroad! While I haven't even left my college town yet, I am excited for my last semester and being able to really strengthen the relationships that I have with everyone. My partner's parents are in town this week and after the HP Concert, we gathered at our apartment to make two kinds of ravioli from last semester brown bag, and some rigatoni in case we didn't have enough pasta. We also made a pasta sauce to go with it, and an oyster mushroom pack that my partner got from Canada when he visited his friend! Verryyyyy yummy! ~ ~ ~ Today (Sunday the 24th) I went to the commencement recital where people from the HP concert played and also a variety of other instruments/techniques were featured such as students from the TIMARA (Technology in Music and Related Arts) using a synthesizer, classical piano, and our all time favorite jazz group. This ran for around 1 hour and 30 minutes and was thoroughly enjoyable. Afterwards, I went to the conservatory commencement reception with my partner, his family and friends. We arrived right before the line became super long and their food was alright too. There was also free(?) alcohol which was quite interesting, just didn't expect that. Additionally, they dropped like a 12 or 6 pack of Great Lakes near the end of the reception..... Quite a RIP but not much can be done about that. We also made pizza today. om nom. Writing this at work and quite tired. see you in a week or two! |
